Yes! And this is one of our areas of specialization. We frequently work with adults who suspect they have ADHD or autism, including many who were never identified in childhood. Late diagnosis is increasingly common, particularly among women, people of color, LGBTQ+ individuals, and people whose symptoms were masked or misattributed. Our doctoral-level psychologists are trained in adult presentations of ADHD and autism, which often look different than they do in children.
-
Depending on your specific needs, the entire testing process can last 10-20+ hours. Please note that this includes time where your assessor is interpreting measures, writing your report, and contacting others involved in your life. You won’t be present for all of this time.
Our clinicians typically begin with an intake session to learn more about you abd to effectively plan for your testing battery.
Within 1-2 weeks, you attend your first testing session. This can last from 2-6 hours based on your availability and what you’re presenting concern is. Typically, testing sessions are divied in to 2-3 shorter sessions to avoid fatigue which may impact testing results.
After you have completed all testing sessions and any online measures, your assessor will work to complete your report and schedule a feedback sessions for 1-2 weeks later.
-
In addition to receiving an accurate diagnosis, your report will include other information as well. Your report will note your individual strengths and weaknesses, the way you show up in relationships, ways your mind works, recommendations for treatments that are likely to work best for you, and recommendations for nexts steps and obtaining resources. If medication, therapy, or other forms of treatment are recommended, you will br provided with referrals.

For many people this, may be an options. For some types of testing (including cognitive testing, memory testing, ADHD/ASD testing) in-person assessments are still preferred.
